Fishing Fanatic and all round Specimen Hunter…

From a young age, I’ve had a profound fascination with the underwater world. It started simply, catching tadpoles and dragonfly larvae from our family garden pond. My initial attempts at angling were crude—trying to catch the resident fish in our pond with a bamboo cane, cotton, and a fish pellet tied to the end without even a hook.

As the years went on, my passion grew, and I became a sponge, eagerly soaking up every bit of information on the sport. I quickly learned that understanding fish habitat, behaviour, and the changing conditions became the most crucial tool for consistent success, regardless of the species I was targeting.

During this time, I explored many different aspects and genres of fishing, from Match fishing to Sea fishing and everything in between. I wanted to experience it all.

However, over the years, I’ve settled on my niche: Specimen Angling. I get a real buzz from hunting down and catching large specimens of any species, whether saltwater or freshwater. I am just as happy catching a monster Three-Spined Stickleback as I am a giant Common Skate.

I’m starting this blog to record and document my activities and adventures through all four seasons and allow others to follow that journey.
